My Journey with English

        English has been an important part of my life. It has influenced my daily life. In this essay, I will describe my personal journey with English including where it started, the challenges I faced, and what I’ve learned along the way.
I first started learning English when I was 4 years old, in kindergarten. At that time, I felt bored and bothersome with English .One of my first memories of studying English is that I cheated a vocabulary quiz and was taught by the teacher. I felt regretful immediately, but I was still not interested. However, my parents forced me to learn it. Knowing I have no choice but to face it, I decided to spend most of my time on studying vocabulary and grammar.

        As I continued studying English, I faced some challenges. For example, irregular changes in grammar. At first, it was hard for me because it is quite different from the Mandarin Chinese I've learned. Somehow, I improved by spending more and more effort on it. By the way, I also learned to remember them with the lyrics of pop music. This experience taught me a lesson of never give up. Even more, I found myself actually talented in language learning. Once I spend effort and time, it won't be a big deal to present well.

        Learning English has helped me in many ways. For instance, it gives me the courage to talk with foreigners actively and makes me self-confident enough to study, even for other subjects. It has also changed my worldview. I found it not so difficult to communicate with people from different countries.

        In conclusion, my journey with English has been full of challenges, achievements, and learning. I believe that studying a language can make anyone advanced. From now on, I will start reading novels in English, listening English podcasts to improve myself.

    A good roommate can cheer me up when I feel down or depressed. He will also be with me when I feel delighted.An important factor of a perfect roommate is the ability to empathize since everyone is eager to be empathized when feeling down.
